Video Problems..

I have installed beta2 on my system, it seems to have installed fine, but when I log in I get a nice fade, screen mode changes and all I see are triangles and squares flickering and opening and closing, and that's all. This has happened to two different beta versions that I have tried..
Has anyone had this problem, and how do you fix it???
My system is an AMD 64 3200+ 1 gig Memory 256 PCI-E ATI x1300

I get the same problem. I can get it to work in safe mode. Tried to install ati beta drivers, but get message no installable components. Any idea?

Hey all GREAT NEWS!! after about 3 hours with microsoft and 1 or 2 on my own i figured out the problem!! You should be able to boot into safe mode so go ahead and do that. Then while in safe mode open up msconfig. select selective startup. then go into the serivices tab and enable everything but desktop window manager session manager and reboot normally. This resolved it for me....let me know if this helps you as well :)

I Did Something Different, BUT It Still Go The Job Done..
Boot Into Safe Mode Run MsConfig Under Services - Disable Themes Installed BETA2 Drivers For My Video Card ReBoot Enable Themes Service ReBoot Tada...
Didn't Call MicroSoft On This One, Checked Error Events Everything Seemed To Point To Themes, I Dunno If It's The Correct Way, I Just Know It WORKED!!

hello,
I have an HP notebook (nc6220) with a Mobile IntelĀ® 915GM/GMS, 910GML Express Chipset Family video card. This card has all the functionalities needed to run aero glass, except for WQHL drivers. Is there a way to bypass the WQHL driver control and run aero glass on this notebook?
Thanks for any response, R.Demandt

I have a problem with all of my games. If for any reason you try to switch (alt-tab) to desktop, when you return to the game it has a black screen with only the cursor, and eventually crashes. This also happens when you try to change resolutions in the game. As soon as I try and switch resolutions, everything just disappears. I have an Nvidia 7800GT OC. Anyone else having this problem or know of a way to get around it.

I have read that Vista was re-engioneered to make gaming better. I believe one of these changes was to give more priority to the game/swap out other applications.
It seems like a side effect of this is the loss of Alt-Tabbing out of games. Resource intensive games had been bothered by Alt-Tabbing even before Vista. Oblivion states that it will crash if you Alt-Tab..and I have found that to be true under XP.

I actually never had that problem under XP. I even used to have more than one game running at once (2 instances of SWG or SWG and WoW). When I switch now with either WoW or DDO:Stormreach, everything is still going on in the background of the game (sounds, movement and everything) there's just black screen and a cursor.

I would hazzard a guess and blame the video drivers. I have issues with my 6600GT not displaying some applications correctly. Black areas where they should be another colour. Was hoping that nVidia would have an updated driver by now. 88.61 is a couple of months old. Jonty.
